New work all over the plate includes: diagonal shading below the clouds to left of the steeple, reaching to the buildings at left and between the railings of the drawbridge, and to right of the steeple, above two men on the bridge; cross-hatching under the bridge at left and its reflections; diagonal shading on the piers at right and reflections; shading on the right side of the arch at the top; nearly vertical lines added to the reflections below the canal bank at right and at the bottom edge, at right; diagonal shading and foul biting at upper right, above the arch, and shading between the beams in the centre; small patches of shading on the beams at the top and upper right; the reflections of the steeple are extended.
