TECHNIQUE
The figure was outlined and then the shadows filled in with cross-hatching that follows some of the curves of the figure and folds of the clothes. The face is very lightly etched. There are traces of scratching and foul biting on the plate, and it is likely it was not completed.
PRINTING
Only one impression of La Mère Gérard, Stooping has been located (). It was printed in dark brown ink on cream laid paper with a light overall tone that gives it a warm, slightly yellow glow.
