EXHIBITIONS
Dieppe  was first shown among a group of forty etchings by Hogarth & Son in London in 1887. 8  One art critic  wrote approvingly of this 'tiny plate' and other recent etchings of Chelsea shops. 9 
Impressions were shown by H. Wunderlich & Co., New York in 1898 and 1903. Both Bryan Lathrop (1844-1916) and Howard Mansfield (1849-1938) lent impressions to the exhibition organised by the Caxton Club in Chicago in 1900: ( ) and  (

After Whistler's death, impressions were shown at the Grolier Club in New York in 1904 and the Whistler Memorial Exhibition in London in 1905. 11

Whistler sold an impression	on 18 April 1893		to the Fine Art Society, London art dealers, for	£2.2.0. 12  
He	also sold impressions 	in  1897		and in 1900 to 		H. Wunderlich & Co.	of New York for £3.3.0. 13  	One of these probably went to Bryan Lathrop (1844-1916)  ( ) and  another possibly to Howard Mansfield (1849-1938) (
