PRINTING
It is rare: only four impressions have been located. One of the first proofs, mentioned above, was printed in black ink and worked on with wash, and is on a strong, fibrous, vellum-like wove paper (
). Another early impression, printed in dark brown ink with heavy ink tone, is on cream 'modern' (post-1800) laid paper watermarked 'CHALLET' (
