STATE
Five states are known before cancellation.
State 2
The right side of the cupola and left side of the porch roof on San Giorgio are partly burnished out, along with some details of the façade and dark shading above the deck of the steamship in front of it.
State 4
The right side and bottom edge of San Giorgio's cupola are redrawn.
The bands of fine shading on the sky are difficult to see on some impressions.
Published in this and the following state by Messrs Dowdeswell and Thibaudeau with the Twenty-six Etchings (the 'Second Venice Set') in 1886.
