TECHNIQUE
The studies are drawn lightly in drypoint, and printed with very little burr in black ink.
PRINTING
The only uncancelled impression was printed in black ink on ivory 'antique' (pre-1800) laid paper with an Arms of Amsterdam watermark (
).
).The drypoint was published in an album of Cancelled Plates ('Cancelled Set') by The Fine Art Society, London, 1879. It is likely that the complete print-run was about 20. It was usually printed in black ink on ivory or cream laid paper. Watermarks include the Strasbourg Lily (, ), Van Gelder () and horned crown ().
