TECHNIQUE
It was a drypoint, and the few known impressions were all printed with considerable burr.
PRINTING
The first state was printed in black ink on various papers, one on tan wove paper, possibly Asian (
), another very richly inked print on cream 'antique' (pre-1800) laid paper (), and a third on ivory laid paper from a book (). Finally there is a fragment, the top half of the print, printed in dark brown ink on ivory laid paper ().

Cancelled impressions were printed in black ink, some on cream laid paper watermarked with a crown with thorns (), on Van Gelder watermarked laid paper (i.e. ) and Strasbourg Lily watermarked paper (i.e. ).
