TECHNIQUE
The composition was mostly etched, augmented with delicate drypoint that faded and had to be replaced as it wore down. Lochnan commented:

Almost all impressions are printed in black ink. The first state was printed on off-white thin laid Japanese paper, cleanly wiped (
), the second on off-white 'antique' (pre-1800) laid paper with a 'Pro Patria' over 'NP' watermark ().
