The plate was in Whistler's studio at his death and was inherited by Rosalind Birnie Philip (1873-1958). At least one impression was printed by Frederick Goulding (1842-1909) on 26 January 1904 (
). After Goulding printed it in 1904 the plate was cancelled with a diagonal line across the lower right corner. Miss Philip gave the plate to the University of Glasgow in 1935.
