Impressions were exhibited by the print dealers, H. Wunderlich & Co. in New York in 1898 and 1903 - Charles Lang Freer (1856-1919) bought one after the latter show (


After Whistler's death an impression was shown at the Grolier Club in New York in 1904, and in the same year Howard Mansfield (1849-1938) lent his impression to the Whistler Memorial Exhibitions in Boston and London (
