| Print note: | Deep, dark drypoint lines define the upper body of the front leaning figure; small gray scraped or partially burnished patches to left of the bending figure's feet, body and head; sugar/sand/salt grain across the arches of the doorway and more regular tone (lavis?) above the right window; pronounced mechanically added tone in the water (presumably roulette work); tonal medium possibly added in the darkest shadows of interior to reinforce the etched lines and the grid of the rear window may show the use of stopping-out; a series of scratches (vise mark) at lower centre print distinctly. Marks of roulette visible across the bottom of the water. |
